2. Where do XOCO events take place?
We bring the experience to your home or a designated event location. All private chef dinners and cooking classes are conducted on-site at your residence for an exclusive, intimate experience.

3. Do you offer group events or only private experiences?
Yes! While our in-home private chef experiences are tailored for small gatherings (2-12 guests), we also host chocolate tastings, tea socials, wellness, and special outdoor dining experiences—perfect for larger groups and social outings.

4. How far in advance should I book my experience?
We recommend booking at least 2-3 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. For special events or holiday bookings, we advise reserving 4-6 weeks in advance due to high demand.

Private Chef & In-Home Dining Experiences

5. How does the in-home private chef experience work?
Your personal chef and assistant will arrive fully prepared with all ingredients, cookware, and professional tools. They will handle cooking, plating, and serving, ensuring a seamless and sophisticated dining experience. Light prep and plating will be done on-site, with some items pre-marinated or pre-prepped for efficiency.

6. Can I customize my menu?
Yes! We offer six curated menu options featuring steak, seafood, pork, chicken, ribs, and a sophisticated vegetarian dish. If you have dietary restrictions or preferences, please let us know in advance so we can tailor your experience.

7. How long does the dinner experience last?
Your full XOCO in-home dining experience typically lasts 3-4 hours, including preparation, plating, serving, and cleanup. Dinner is usually served 60-75 minutes after the chef’s arrival.

8. Do I need to provide anything?
We provide everything needed to prepare and serve your meal, including premium ingredients, chef’s knives, cookware, and plating tools. You’ll only need to provide access to your kitchen (stove, oven, microwave, small appliances, refrigerator) and a dining area.

9. Do you offer wine pairings?
Yes! We offer optional wine pairings to complement your meal. You can select from:
Classic Pairing ($45 per person) – One expertly selected wine per course
Premium Reserve Pairing ($85 per person) – High-end, sommelier-curated selections
Custom Wine Selection (Market Rate) – Choose from our exclusive wine list

12. How long do the classes last?
Cooking classes last approximately 2-3 hours, depending on the complexity of the dish.

13. What is the pricing for cooking classes?
6-12 Guests: $195 per person
2-5 Guests: $250 per person

We accept credit cards, debit cards, and electronic payments. A deposit is required to secure your booking, with full payment due 7-14 days before the event.

17. What is your cancellation policy?

  • Cancellations 14+ days before the event: Full refund

  • Cancellations within 7-13 days: 50% refund

  • Cancellations within 6 days: Non-refundable

18. Do you charge a travel fee?
For locations within San Diego, no travel fee applies. For events outside of central San Diego, a mileage-based fee ($0.75 - $1.00 per mile round trip per chef) may apply.
